Using Tuning Forks for Healing for Optimum Health and Wellbeing

According to the NHS  and Mindfulness for mental well-being, mindfulness is about becoming more aware of the present moment which in turn can help us enjoy the world around us more and understand ourselves better.

Mark Williams, professor of clinical psychology at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre, says that mindfulness means knowing directly what is going on inside and outside ourselves, moment by moment.

Professor Williams says that mindfulness can be an antidote to the "tunnel vision" that can develop in our daily lives, especially when we are busy, stressed or tired.

He says:

"It's easy to stop noticing the world around us. It's also easy to lose touch with the way our bodies are feeling and to end up living 'in our heads' – caught up in our thoughts without stopping to notice how those thoughts are driving our emotions and behaviour," he says.

"An important part of mindfulness is reconnecting with our bodies and the sensations they experience. This means waking up to the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of the present moment. That might be something as simple as the feel of a banister as we walk upstairs.

"Another important part of mindfulness is an awareness of our thoughts and feelings as they happen moment to moment.

"Awareness of this kind doesn't start by trying to change or fix anything. It's about allowing ourselves to see the present moment clearly. When we do that, it can positively change the way we see ourselves and our lives."

Sound mindfulness is taking time out to listen.  Really listen to the sounds of the tuning forks.  By listening intently you start to relax the brain.  The left logical side and the right creative, more spiritual side balance and become friends. Listen with one ear, right until the sound fades and then strike the tuning fork and listen with the other.  By tuning into the tuning forks I teach with the Clear, Cleanse, Balance System which I have devised following years of research and working with people, the OM allows a real sense of peace, soothing and nurturing to be felt.  The weighted OM is a sonic sound bath for your body as you stem the end of the tuning forks of your body and the 528 hz tuning fork completes the sound experience.  The sounds can be used anywhere. In nature is such a beautiful experience as you connect fully to all around you.

Resounding right to the last molecule of sound as the sound filtrates through your ears on a subtly powerful level, creating a subtle vibration with your Vagus Nerve, which in turn is connected to each of your organs.  All your organs have cells, which have trillions of molecules, which have an infinity amount of atoms.  Atoms are 99.9999% space, however that space has vibration and energy present. So on a subtle energetic vibrational level, when you listen to sound you are tapping into your quantum space blending with the Universal quantum space.  This may not sit with some scientists out there but we are speaking about the most subtle vibrational energy and our connection to our Divine core.

Tuning forks for Healing

The OM is the amplifier for all the other forks when doing a sound healing. It is the Universal sound of life and I feel it is the heartbeat of the Earth. It connects us to the Universal consciousness. Healing using the OM can be very relaxing and meditative. It balances the right and left hemispheres of the brain, allowing the mindless chatter, the ego, to be quietened and indeed with prolonged use, silenced. It is the ‘peace finding’ vibration. It is the fork to use to start a sound healing and it is particularly good for meditation and if you find you are unable to sleep, it will aid restful slumber. The OM is said to be the sound that created Earth in eastern teachings. It certainly is a loving and nurturing sound and is used at the beginning of every tuning fork healing.

Channelled from the Mother energy at Chalice Well, Glastonbury, England:

‘OM is the Universal great. It IS like a Mothers Love. It is the caring sigh of the Universe keeping you safe and secure. It allows stillness within, giving peace, relaxation and clarity.’

The Earth cradles me in her arms, soothing away my fears and worries. I feel her heartbeat as she blends with mine. I feel at One, at peace with my Soul and I know the truth of who I am. I feel the love Mother Earth has for me so deeply. In the changing seasons, her moods reflect my in a world of change. Let me learn from our Mother Earth. She knows just what to do. When she needs to clear and cleanse she does and then things settle down to the deep rhythm of her heartbeat. This I can relate to in my own life too, knowing deeply that all will always settle yet again. To the depths of my Soul and the Core of my Being I feel this. The union of two heartbeats and two Souls makes the feminine and masculine power complete in the within and without.

NB IMPORTANT – Do not stem the heart area if you have a pacemaker or from waist upwards

The Thymus gland, at the forward base of the neck, plays a key role in the immune/ defence system, stimulating the production of white blood cells that fight disease and infection. When we are born our thymus gland is quite large, nearly as large as the heart and lungs. As we get older the thymus atrophies (shrinks) (as early as 15 years of age) and very often becomes a mass of fat in our 40’s and 50’s. Tapping or stimulating (stemming the tuning fork on this area) on the thymus may improve its function. The thymus is also referred to as the higher heart chakra.

The Thymus chakra responds to all sounds, and any with which you are in contact. There is much sensitivity in the area of the Thymus chakra because of the bony structure that overlays it. When you sing or shout, pray or chant, or listen to music the Thymus chakra is stimulated. From here you may experience renewed energy as a result of the sound.

The thymus serves as the link between mind and body, being the first organ to be affected by mental attitudes and stress. Hence, activation and stimulation of the thymus is an essential, primary foundation of achieving and maintaining positive health.

At the first sign of feeling unwell, stem the thymus with the weighted OM. You may carry this on for as long as feels right for you. This will eventually kick start the immune system and you will start to feel better. I personally managed to prevent flu from taking hold and my husband prevented pneumonia from progressing and was feeling better within 24 hours. Results will vary though.

The 528hz tuning fork is one of the Ancient Solfeggio frequencies, the Tone is MI (528 Hz) (Universal Love, Transformation and Miracles). The Latin interpretation is Mira gestorum

As the 528 frequency is part of the Sacred Solfeggio scale, my feeling is the frequencies of these healing codes have been here since the beginning of time. This is why the human body ‘gets and absorbs’ them. “In the beginning was the ‘word’” John 1:1.

The 528 frequency is for miracles and transformations and Universal Love. Allowing all that you are to become your own Truth in all that there is. Allowing your birth-right to be realised and as the frequency is absorbed in mind, body, spirit and Soul you may get a clearer sense of purpose. The inner transformation may be subtle but slowly you may realise changes to self and your reaction to things.

Some reports suggest that the 528 frequency may repair DNA. I have been unable to find the Source for this claim so bring this information to you tentatively. According to science up to 97% of our DNA is not used, the 3% holds our genetic blueprint. The 528 may repair our genetic DNA, but what maybe more exciting is working with and repairing the 97% DNA, where it may be considered Karmic, Dharmic, ancestral and Akashic records are stored. In our current DNA structure we have 2 visible strands, called the Backbone DNA. There are 10 other strands of spiritual DNA, which some scientists affirm they have seen and are called ‘the shadow DNA’.

With committed use of the 528 (and others) it may enable you to ‘feel’ or ‘unlock’ the other 5 pairs of DNA.

Dr Len Harowitz has done extensive research on this frequency. Find it at This frequency is a great ‘first aid’ fork, especially for the body.

Channeled from the Mother energy at Chalice Well, Glastonbury, England:

“It allows the love of the Universe and the inter-connectiveness to ALL. Our DNA becomes excited and allows the body to heal from deep within the pulsing union between ourselves and the I AM and the WE AM energy in us all. It heals nourishes, and loves us.”

This frequency is a great ‘first aid’ fork, especially for the body and appears to accelerate the healing process. This is an experimental and experiential viewpoint based on the research I have done and that appears in this manual, however, I make no claims for what the sounds may do for you.

The physical body – the 528hz facilitates in the healing of sprains, muscle aches, pains and has been shown at times to aid in the prevention of bacteria and viruses becoming worse. (Please note, these are subjective claims, and medical attention should be sought as needed). It also facilitates in the healing of cuts, grazes, bites, sores, sunburn, bruises, swelling and skin complaints. To do this cover the area if necessary with a suitable cover, use the stem and hold it to the area, gently circling the outline of the wound and into the centre.

The Chakras are not physical; they are the aspects of consciousness in the same way that the Auras are aspects of consciousness. Chakras interact with the physical body through two major vehicles, the endocrine system and the nervous system. Each of the seven main Chakras discussed here are associated with one of the seven endocrine glands with the positions of the Chakra's corresponding to the positions of the glands in the endocrine system and have an effect on their functioning and also with a particular group of nerves called a Plexus.

NB – There is much guidance on this information. You are your own best source of guidance.

(Balanced and imbalanced)

A variety of health problems may be caused by Chakra Imbalances affecting the associated Endocrine Gland and organs in the specific region thus potentially resulting in disease and illness. This is my guidance that I share with you.

(Base of the spine - Red)

The Root Chakra is located at the base of the spine. It is closest to the Earth, and can be utilized for Earthly grounding. It controls your physical vitality, ‘flight or fight’ response, physical survival instincts, and the emotions of desire, anger, jealousy and greed.

The Root Chakra governs life lessons of the material world, such as survival, safety and security. It stores information involving family beliefs and loyalty, your ability to stand up for yourself, superstition, instincts, physical pain or pleasure, and touch.

An imbalance in the Root Chakra may be indicated by a loss of interest in the ‘real world’ and practical survival, obsessions and addictions, volatile emotions of desire, anger, jealousy and greed, selfishness, restlessness and a lack of energy.

Physical Problems: Anorexia, Obesity, Osteoarthritis, Auto-Immune Disease, Arthritis, Cancer, AIDS, Fatigue, Kidney, Spinal Column

Governs: governs the genitals, back, feet, hips, spine and legs.

Issues are: security and survival.

The Sacral Chakra is located just below the navel, about 2-3 fingers. It represents your sexuality, feminine side, creativity, self-esteem, pleasures and frustrations. It can be where addictions are housed.

It governs life lessons involving blaming and guilt, manifesting, money and prosperity, sex, power, control, and it is the base of your creativity and sense of morality. Information stored in the Sacral Chakra involves feelings of duality, personal magnetism, your patterns of control, your sociability, emotions and feelings.

An imbalance in the Sacral Chakra may be experienced as an addiction to food (eating disorder), drugs, alcohol, people or any other addiction. Also an imbalance may result in depression and intimacy issues, including impotence and frigidity.

Physical Problems: Bladder problems, Frigidity, Gall and Kidney Stones, Reproductive Organ problems, Vaginal Cancer, Prostate Cancer, Pelvic Disease

Governs: the sexual organs, bladder, bowel and lower intestine.

Issues are: physical and material desires.

The Solar Plexus Chakra is about asserting yourself. When it is open, you feel in control and you have sufficient self-esteem. Emotional memories are stored here, and it's where your ‘gut feelings’ come from. It is the seat of your emotional life, and many of us are naturally connected to our environments through this chakra.

The Solar Plexus governs life lessons involving your self-esteem, a fear of rejection or oversensitivity to criticism, distorted self-image, and fear. Information stored here involves your personal power, personality, a sense of ‘knowing’ and your sense of belonging.

An imbalance in this chakra may manifest as a difficulty concentrating, a poor ability to make decisions, or to judge a situation accurately, a feeling that you are more important or less important than other people and trouble taking action or getting things done.

When this Chakra is under-active you tend to be passive and indecisive. You are probably timid and don't get what you want. If this Chakra is over active you are domineering and probably even aggressive.

Physical problems: Diabetes, Digestive problems, Adrenal organ illness, Liver problems.

Governs: the pancreas, stomach, upper intestines, gall bladder, liver, spleen, upper back and upper spine. Issues are - power and control.

The Heart Chakra is in the heart space. It is the centre for unconditional love, tolerance, empathy, forgiveness, and compassion. It is the seat of the Soul. As the Heart Chakra is about Love, kindness and affection, when it is open, you are compassionate and friendly, you work at harmonious relationships. It is the centre of compassion, love, group consciousness and spirituality.

The Heart Chakra, governs life lessons involving love and empathy, self-confidence and self- acceptance, inspiration and hope, generosity, and on the flip side, feelings of despair, hate, envy, fear, jealousy, and anger. Information stored in the Heart Chakra includes the connections or "heart strings" to those we love.

An imbalance in the Heart Chakra may be felt as a lack of self-discipline, difficulty in relationships, attempts to live vicariously through others, and depending on someone else for your happiness.

When your Heart Chakra is under-active, you are cold and distant. If this Chakra is over-active, you are suffocating people with your love and your love may have quite selfish reasons.

The Heart Chakra is associated with the circulatory System and Thymus Gland.

Physical problems: Cancer, High Blood Pressure, Heart Problems, Thymus, Blood, Circulatory System Issues, Asthma, Involuntary Muscles.

Governs: the heart, lungs, blood and circulation, upper body, arms and chest.

Issues are - Love.

(Blue / Light blue)

The Throat Chakra is located in the throat, near the thyroid gland. It is the chakra of communication, expression and judgment. This Chakra is about self-expression and talking. When open, you have no problems expressing yourself and you might be doing so in a creative way.

This Chakra governs life lessons of self-expression and speaking one’s truth, creativity (especially writing or speaking), faith, making decisions and will power. Information stored in the Throat Chakra includes self-knowledge and truth.

An imbalance in the Throat Chakra can be felt as difficulty in self-expression, poor learning ability, fear, doubt, and uncertainty, the need to criticize or judge, lack of authority and indecisiveness.

When this Chakra is under-active, you tend to not speak as much and you probably are introverted and shy. Not speaking the truth may block this Chakra. If this Chakra is over-active, you tend to speak too much, usually to domineer and keep people at a distance. You are a bad listener if this is the case.

The Throat Chakra is associated with the Respiratory System/Thyroid Gland. It is the centre for sound, communication, speech, writing and thought expression.

Physical problems: Asthma, Neck Problems, Lungs, Under or Over active Thyroid, Throat, Jaw, Alimentary Canal, Vocal Cords.

Governs: the throat, thyroid, mouth, teeth, tongue and jaw.

Issues are – communication and expression

The Brow Chakra is located in the center of the brain (not the centre of the forehead), and is also known as "the Third Eye". This Chakra is about insight and visualization. It is the centre of psychic power, spirit energies, higher intuition and light.

This chakra governs spiritual direction and wisdom. It is the seat of dreams, inner vision, and the spiritual life. More understanding of Divine/Source, detachment from EGO/chatterbox, open mindedness, trusting your intuition and insights, and developing your psychic abilities are felt. Self-realization, releasing hidden and repressed negative thinking can be achieved. The information stored within the Third Eye Chakra includes seeing things clearly (symbolically or literally), wisdom, intuition, and intellect.

An imbalance in this Chakra might be felt as a problem with learning, co-ordination problems, sleep disorders, or a feeling of not being whole and something is missing.

When it is open, you have good intuition. You may tend to fantasize and have wonderful visualisations. If this Chakra is over-active, you may live in a world of fantasy too much. If it is under-active you are not very good at thinking for yourself and you may tend to rely on authoritative people. You may be rigid in your thinking, relying on beliefs too much. You might even get confused easily.

(White / violet)

The Crown Chakra is located at the crown of the head. It balances the inner and outer person, and is the connection for the higher self. It is the channel through which we receive Divine guidance, purpose and wisdom.

Life lessons to be learned through the Crown Chakra are intuitive knowing, integration of the whole Self, spirituality, living in the Now, discovery of the Divine, the ability to see the big picture in the stream of Life, devotion, inspiration, values, ethics, trust, selflessness, and humanitarianism.

The information stored in the Crown Chakra includes your connection to the Divine, your life’s purpose, your connection to past lives and Immortality. An imbalance in the Crown Chakra may be felt as lack of purpose, loss of meaning or identity, depression or lack of connection to the world. This Chakra is about wisdom and being at one with the world.

When this Chakra is open, you are unprejudiced and quite aware of the world and yourself. If it is under-active, you are not very aware spiritually. You are probably quite rigid in your thinking. If this Chakra is over-active, you are probably intellectualizing things too much. You may be addicted to spirituality and probably ignoring your bodily needs.

The Crown Chakra is associated with the central nervous system/Pineal gland. It is the centre of enlightenment, dynamic thought, truth and oneness.

Physical problems: Exhaustion, Epilepsy, Cerebrum, Pineal Gland, Right Eye.

Governs: top of the spinal cord, brain stem, pain centre, nerves.

Issues are - Spiritual Wisdom.

It has been well documented over thousands of years that when your chakra energy centres are healthy so is the rest of your body.  My personal belief is emotional and mental ill health creates physical ill health as the dense emotions are stored in the cells.  Depending on which chakra is affected relates to the physical problem or health condtion.

According to medical science, the human body completely renews itself every 7 years. The cornea replaces itself every 24 hours, the skin every 14-28 days, the blood cells every 90 days, the soft tissue every 6 months, and the dense tissue every 2 to 7 years.

So if every part of our body is constantly regenerating itself, then why don't we end up with a brand new body? Why don't we feel like we did when we were young? It may be because the energetic blueprint from which our body is designed is not new. We hold memories, feelings and emotions in the energetic blueprint, which has also been altered from our true environment, our foods, water and especially from our thoughts and emotional states.

By using the tuning fork vibration alongside intent of the liberation of any stuck emotional energy, cells can vibrate more freely, thus potentially making way for optimum health and well-being.
